PM Dung asked them to continue the general scheme of economic restructuring, development model adjustment and sectorial restructuring towards improved quality, effectiveness and competitive capacity; diversified economic, trade and investment relations; and enhanced economic self-reliance.
The Government leader also asked the agencies to review and improve socioeconomic development plans for economic zones, localities and sectors while striving to reach a 6-6.2 percent growth in gross domestic product.
Several service industries with high added value-including tourism, telecommunications, IT, financing, banking, insurance and trade support services-should receive special focus to accelerate development, PM Dung said.
The local market should be further developed and the export of several major services should be promoted effectively. Communication, advertising and promotion of locally made products should be boosted to improve their position and prestige while reducing reliance on imports. Local production programmes, particularly those supplying materials for production, should be implemented actively, PM Dung added.
In addition, he asked for synchronised solutions to expand markets and develop new markets; closer management over the import of non-recommended goods; diversified import and export markets to avoid the reliance on one market; better consumer protections; stricter punishments for violations; and continued adjustment of the prices of fundamental goods and services in line with the market mechanism.
PM Dung also requested that relevant agencies further develop electronic commercial activities, improve investment and trade environment, seek solutions to reduce costs for market entry, facilitate land use, and improve transparency for a fairer competitive environment while focusing on improving the business environment and boosting administrative reforms.
