PM calls for application of technology in agricultural production

Meeting with the company's officials and workers, the Prime Minister highly valued their efforts in applying advanced science and technology in production and business, as well as boosting links with farmers in Ninh Binh and other localities. He said agriculture can serve as a steppingstone to make Vietnam an upper-middle-income country before 2035. He asked the sector as well as Dong Giao company to apply advanced technologies like sensor technology, automation, drone technology, big data, cloud computing, 3D printing and internet of things in order to develop Vietnam's modern agriculture. The Prime Minister asked the Ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development, and Planning and Investment, and other relevant agencies to make policies more favourable to agriculture. He also urged them to focus on modernising the agricultural sector in order to meet the domestic demand of nearly 100 million people as well as the demand for export. Dong Giao is one of the pioneering enterprises in the development of high-tech agriculture and the formation of supply chains. The company uses materials produced in Ninh Binh, Gia Lai and 13 other provinces, creating jobs for more than 20,000 workers.
