Visiting the place, tourists would be attracted at first sight by a 4ha square lake with an artificial island on which stands a Jesus statue with spreading arms and a three-story house, named Phuong Dinh, where a 2 ton-bronze bell is hung.
Opposite to Phuong Dinh is the cathedral, the heart of the complex. The cathedral with 74m long, 21m wide and 15m high, was up with carved wood pillars. At the centre of the church is a large altar with fine carvings. Alongside the church are four small churches for parishioners to meet.
Spotlight in Phat Diem Cathedral Complex, which was built for the sake of people's happiness, prosperity and peace, is a stone church behind the cathedral. The church was built entirely of stones, from floor to walls, pillars, and bars. Inside the church, there is a carved relief and four panels of Pine tree-Small bamboo-Daisy-Apricot, representing four seasons in Vietnam.
Another attraction in the complex is the statue of Father Tran Luc, also known as Father Sau (Six), who designed Phat Diem Cathedral Complex which has been existing for over a century now.
