Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC's Inspection Commission Tran Quoc Vuong, visited policy beneficiary families, the poor and ethnic minority groups in the northern moutainous province of Yen Bai.
The Politburo member extended his New Year's greetings and presented 100 Tet gifts to policy beneficiaries, veteran revolutionaries and poor households from ethnic minority backgrounds in Y Can Commune (Tran Yen District) and Quang Minh Commune (Van Yen District).
He expressed his pleasure at the efforts made by the local governments to care for social welfare and positive changes in building new-style rural areas in moutainous regions and asked the local Party committees and governments to focus on upgrading educational and healthcare facilities and accelerate sustainable hunger eradication and poverty reduction.
On behalf of the Party and State's leaders, Politburo member Vuong expressed his hope that officials and soldiers of the armed forces as well as ethnic minority people in Yen Bai would welcome a Lunar New Year of happiness and prosperity.
On the same day, Politburo member, PCC Secretary and Head of the PCC's Economic Commission Nguyen Van Binh paid a New Year's visit to the northern moutainous province of Bac Kan. He presented 200 Tet gifts to policy beneficiary families, veteran revolutionaries and poor households in Thuan Mang and Thuong Quan Communes in Ngan Son District.
Politburo member Binh also visited and presented 67 gifts to children who are living and studying at the provincial Centre for Children with Disabilities and gave 400 gifts to students at the province's Ethnic Boarding School.
He asked the Party committees and governments in Bac Kan province to pay close attention to caring for all households on the occasion of the upcoming Tet holiday as well as to create favourable conditions in which for needy people to overcome difficulties and stabilise their lives.
