Party, NA officials attend ground-breaking, inauguration ceremonies of projects in Ninh Binh

Attending the event were Politburo member, Permanent member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat Vo Van Thuong; Tran Thanh Man, Politburo member and Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man, and leaders of some ministries and sectors.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Thu Ha; Chairman of the provincial People's Council Tran Hong Quang, and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Pham Quang Ngoc also attended the ceremony.

The East-West road has a total length of 22.9km and connects national and provincial highways in Ninh Binh province.

The road starts at the intersection of the Eastern North-South expressway in Quang Son commune in Tam Diep city, and ends at the intersection with national highway 12B in Van Phong commune, Nho Quan district.

The road is designed to have eight lanes. The project has total investment capital of nearly 1.5 trillion VND, including 500 billion VND from the central budget and the rest sourced from the local budget.

The project is scheduled to finish and put into operation in December 2024.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Pham Quang Ngoc said the East-West road is a key project and must be completed as soon as possible to create a momentum and breakthrough for the province's socio-economic development in the short term and in the long term.

The road will run through four districts and cities, connecting the western and the eastern points of Ninh Binh, from the mountainous district of Nho Quan to the coastal district of Kim Son. It also helps connect important national highways, creating a strategic transport axis.

Later on the day, Thuong and Man also joined other leaders of ministries and agencies to attend and cut the ribbon to inaugurate Kim Dai sluice in Kim Son district.
