Politburo member Le Hong Anh, who is currently paying a visit to China as part of his role as Special Envoy of Party General Secretary, Nguyen Phu Trong, met with Wang Jiarui, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference on August 26.
During the meeting, Le Hong Anh, who is also a standing member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), pointed out that his visit aims hold discussions with Chinese leaders on how to restore and boost the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries in a healthy, stable and long-term manner so as to fulfil peoples' expectations and interests.
He stressed the need for the two Parties and countries to strengthen their co-operation and to maintain their healthy and stable relationship, particularly in the face of the current tensions in the East Sea which have affected ties between the two Parties and countries as well as security, peace and stability in the region as a whole.
The Vietnamese official spoke highly of the close collaboration between the CPV Central Committee's Commission for External Relations and the Communist Party of China's International Liaison Department, particularly in the implementation of signed agreements and people-to-people exchange programmes. The co-ordination has helped deepen the two nations' comprehensive strategic co-operative partnership and has contributed to peace, co-operation and development in the region and the world, Anh said.
He expressed his hope that in his position as Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and head of the International Liaison Department, Wang will continue his contributions to maintaining and nurturing the bi-lateral ties.
For his part, Wang affirmed the Chinese side attaches great importance to the visit to China by Anh as Special Envoy of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
He said he believes that the visit will help solve existing disputes and differences between the two countries in a satisfactory way as well as further boost their relations.
