The reports, which were debated in the morning session, focused on personnel preparations for the Party Central Committee, the Politburo and the Party Secretariat, and nominations for the four key leading positions of the 12th tenure.
They also covered the nomination list of the Presidium, the Secretariat and the Committee for Appraising Eligibility of Delegates of the 12th National Party Congress.
In the afternoon session, the Committee's members gave feedback on the 11th Party Central Committee's draft report on personnel work for the next term.
The 14th meeting of the 11th Party Central Committee, which opened in Hanoi on January 11, is of critical importance as it will decide the final preparations for the 12th National Party Congress, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong noted in his opening speech, demanding the Committees' members take a high sense of responsibility in order to fulfill the agenda.
It is also scheduled to discuss the signing of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement.
Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong asked the Committee's members to scrutinise the TPP negotiations' outcomes and analyse the trade deal's impacts.
Vietnam and 11 other Asian-Pacific countries concluded more than five years of negotiations on the TPP on October 5, 2015. The deal is a new-generation free trade agreement (FTA) with requirements much stricter than existing FTAs and covering both trade - investment issues and related matters.
