Number of overnight tourists rises by 12.5% in first 8 months of 2014

According to statistics by the Ninh Binh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the first eight months of this year, the tourist arrivals to Ninh Binh numbered 3.679 million, down 3,7% compared to same period last year. However, the number of those staying overnight increased by 314,295 nights, a year - on - year rise of 12.5%.
Of this, over 3.3 million were domestic and 346,2000 foreign, a rise of 41,2% and 20,3% respectively over the same period last year.
Revenue is estimated at VND 757.5 billion (USD 35.7 billion), an increase of 1.3 percent against that recorded a year earlier.
The hike in the overnight tourists reflects an improvement in the service quality, infrastructure and services of accommodation establishments in the province which helps attract more visitors in the coming time.
