In a bid to attract investment and promote MICE tourism potential, Ninh Binh has supported local firms to invest in tourism infrastructure and upgrade services to draw more visitors, thus creating momentum for the province's green economy to develop robustly in the coming time.
Ninh Binh works to boost MICE tourism development
Ninh Binh is now home to over 700 accommodation establishments with more than 8,000 rooms. In particular, it has the first five-star hotel to serve for MICE visitors.
Apart from big meeting halls at hotels, the province's convention centre and Bai Dinh pagoda's international convention centre could serve up to thousands of people.
Local tourism infrastructure has been invested synchronically and connected to 17 tourist sites in the province.
Thanks to these efforts, in recent years, Ninh Binh has been chosen to organise numerous important cultural and social events such as the United Nations Day of Vesak 2019, karate events of SEA Games 31 in 2022; and the ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of the Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage.

After the COVID-19 pandemic has been basically controlled, Hoa Lu hotel has stepped up promotion work, advertises the image of Ninh Binh, and organised numerous events in combination with sightseeing and culture experiencing tours. Currently, 80% of the Hoa Lu hotel turnover comes from MICE visitors.
To spur MICE tourism development in the coming time, localities and travel firms must have strategies to invest in infrastructure and upgrade services in a professional manner.
In addition, they must pay due attention to improving the qualifications of human resources who could serve tourists well, and provide safe, quality and attractive services, meeting the high demand of visitors.
