The province has applied COVID-19 prevention and control measures at one higher level than the real situation while quickly tracing and localising those who have close contact with confirmed patients, and promptly collecting samples for testing in order to soon detect infected cases.
In addition to constantly updating and implementing the government's directions, the provincial People's Committee also issued numerous documents and dispatches to strengthen COVID-19 prevention and control, monitor and detect pandemic clusters and conduct tests for those coming from COVID-19 hit provinces and cities.
Ninh Binh established a command center for COVID-19 prevention and control headed by the Chairman of the provincial People's Committee. Each member of the center has a specific task and responsibility. A hotline operates around the clock to promptly receive information related to the COVID-19 situation in the province.
It also promptly issued plans on COVID-19 prevention and control, vaccinations, bringing Ninh Binh citizens home from COVID-19 hit provinces and cities and monitoring and quarantining those people safely in line with regulations.
At the same time, the People's Committees of districts and cities were asked to establish concentrated quarantine establishments to receive those who come from Ho Chi Minh city and other southern provinces and cities which have been hardest struck by the pandemic.
The provincial People's Committee also requested the Department of Health to work with related departments and sectors to build plans on COVID-19 prevention and control for important events like the opening ceremony of the National Tourism Year 2021 and the high school graduation exam.
From the 4th wave of infection began on April 27 to October 20, the province monitored and quarantined 1,049 people who had close contact with COVID-19 patients. Currently, there are 2,433 people undergoing quarantine at 53 establishments while 3,478 others are self-quarantining at home. The monitoring of those coming back from high risk areas are implemented strictly.
To date, the province has established five facilities to receive and treat COVID-19 patients. A plan was mapped out to mobilise 11 regional general clinics to treat COVID-19 patients with total of 400 beds when neccessary.
The province has stepped up the communication work, reminding local people to strictly implement COVID-19 prevention and control measures and promptly inform about the pandemic developments in order to raise their awareness, strictly implement the Health Ministry's 5K message and get fully vaccinated.
Local people have been encouraged to register voluntarily health declarations on electronic platforms such as Blue Zon and Vietnam Health Declaration.
It has activated a map of warning about quarantine sites and risk areas, and launched a system to assess the risk of infections in production and businesses facilities.
In the coming time, Ninh Binh province will continue to review and proactively implement its scenarios to cope with possible outbreaks in a bid to prevent the spread of the pandemic in the community, medical facilities and enterprises.
The health sector was requested to well prepare for a scenario to provide treatment for both local residents and COVID-19 patients. In particular, the health sector must allocate sufficient forces to implement the inoculation of second shots for local people in order to achieve herd immunity as soon as possible.
It must purchase medical equipment and materials and directs heath establishments to map out scenarios to cope with possible outbreaks. Medical workers must be ready for helping other provinces and localities in treating and taking care of COVID-19 patients if requested.
With the synchronous and proactive measures, Ninh Binh has strived to maintain its achievements in the fight against COVID-19 and keep it as a safe "green zone" for socio-economic development.
