According to the Ninh Binh provincial Deparment of Culture, Sport and Tourism, the northern province welcomed over 156,2000 tourist arrivals in the first month of this year, a year-on-year increase of 30.7%.
Of this, nearly 105,400 were domestic and 50,8000 foreign, a rise of 30.7% over the same period last year.
Revenue is estimated at VND 49 billion (USD 2.2 million), an increase of 26.1% against that recorded a year earlier.
Ninh Binh is now a tourism center of the Red River Delta with a strong growth rate over the past years. In January, Ninh Binh organized a ceremony to receive UNESCO's certificate honoring Trang An landscape complex as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage.
This event creates a chance to improve the quality of services and promotion of tourist sites, as well as draw visitors to the province.
In 2015, Ninh Binh will continue to develop sustainable tourism,accelerate the regional connection and linkage with other localities in the National Tourism Year 2015 program. The province also hopes to welcome over 4 million tourist arrivals this year.
