Heritages have been preserved and exploited under the 1972 UNESCO Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage. Thanks to these efforts, Ninh Binh now ranks in the top 15 most attractive destinations and top 10 provinces with the highest number of visitors.
Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex was recognised as a world cultural and natural heritage by UNESCO in 2014. Since then, Ninh Binh has built a methodical strategy to waken heritage values serving tourism development.
The 2023 Trang An Festival featured diverse activities namely water procession, dragon process, and art performances along Sao Khe river. Numerous types of folk singing like Xam, Cheo and Then were performed at the Trang An Festival.
While taking a sightseeing tour to discover Trang An heritage, visitors also have a chance to enjoy the beauty of Hoa Lu ancient capital.
In particular, the Hoa Lu festival, which is held annually from the 8th day to the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month, has attracted a large numbers of visitors to experience outstanding traditional culture.

When May comes, tourists are eager to attend Ninh Binh Tourism Week with the theme "Yellow colour of Tam Coc - Trang An".
Visitors can take a boat to enjoy the spectacular view of Tam Coc rice field, which is voted as one of the five most beautiful paddy fields in Vietnam, and named in the top 15 attractive destinations by Business Insider and by the UK-based magazine Telegraph, respectively.
Especially, in the past two years, local farmers have planted paddy into a giant picture with different themes in an attempt to provide fresh experiences for visitors when attending the annual Ninh Binh Tourism Week.
After more than two years of being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Ninh Binh has carried out synchronic solutions to boost tourism growth.
In 2022, the province welcomed over 3.7 million tourist arrivals, including 101,000 international visitors.
In the first six months of 2023, it served 4.53 million tourists, of them 224,000 are international guests.
Ninh Binh has been ranked as a safe and attractive destination by numerous famous travel magazines like TripAdvisor, Telegraph, Business Insider, The Travel, Forbes. Recently, Ninh Binh is the only locality of Vietnam named among the world's 10 most welcoming regions at the 11th annual Traveller Review Awards organised by Booking.com.
