Ninh Binh - Thanh Hoa expressway section to be opened to traffic later this month

According the investor, by April 3,  the site clearance work, movement of technical infrastructure and building residential areas have been basically completed.

In the past time, the contractors have mobilised machines, equipment and workers to carry out construction round the clock. 

To date, the 54-km section connecting Mai Son commune in Yen Mo district (Ninh Binh) and Dong Xuan intersection in Dong Son district (Thanh Hoa) has basically met requirements for opening to traffic.

The 10-km remaining section stretching from the Dong Xuan intersection to Tan Phuc commune in Nong Cong district (Thanh Hoa) could not be opened to traffic on this occasion due to sluggish progress.

Dau Hong Linh, an official of the management board of contractor, said the slow progress was attributed to the weak ground base, impacts of Covid-19, weather conditions and increasing prices of materials. 

The contractors are working to speed up the congress of construction and deal with the weak ground base.

To date, the value of performance reached 6.57 trillion VND, equivalent to 90% the contract's construction and installment value.

Contractors are focusing on constructing of road foundation, surface, frontage roads and traffict lights, signs.

The Mai Son - National Highway 45 section has a length of 63.37 km and is designed to have six lanes, with a speed limit of 120 km per hour.

After being put into use, the travel time from Hanoi to Thanh Hoa will be shortened to over two hours instead of over three hours at present.
