Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Vietnam Study Encouragement Association, and provincial leaders, among others.
Over the past 20 years, the provincial Study Encouragement Association has achieved good results, contributing to promoting study encouragement activities, building up a lifelong learning movement, as well as developing and enhancing the quality of the Association's activities at all levels.
So far, the provincial Study Encouragement Association has 145 chapters in communes and districts with more than 303,600 members. The association and its chapters at all levels have mobilized billions of Vietnam dong for their Fund, thus giving scholarships to disadvantaged students in the province every year.
Praising the efforts of the provincial Association in contributing to the development of the education and training sector in the locality and to spreading study encouragement activities in the province over the past 20, former Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan suggested local leaders, and officials of the provincial Study Encouragement Association and its chapters at all levels continue paying heed to building a study environment for all people, supporting poor and disadvantaged students in study, promoting study movements in families and residential areas, contributing to preventing social vices, reducing poverty incidents, and raising people's intellectual standards.
On this occasion, former Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan presented the medal for the cause of education to 89 individuals in recognition of their outstanding efforts in the task of study and talent promotion over the past 20 years.
Also at the event, many individuals and collectives were awarded Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam Study Encouragment Association, the provincial Study Encouragement Association and the provincial People's Committee in recognition of their outstanding achievements in the movement.
