The move aims to realise the target of reducing multidimensional poverty; narrowing the poor-rich gap between localities; limiting poverty relapse and new poor households; assisting the poor to reach the minimal living standards; improving the quality of life; and ensuring harmony between economic development and sustainable social security, thus fulfilling the province's socio-economic development goals in the period of 2021 - 2025.
Accordingly, the provincial People's Committee has set a target of reducing two-thirds of poor households as compared to the figure at the end of 2021 under multidimensional standards in the period of 2022 - 2025.
It aims to ensure that 100 percent of poor and near-poor households get access to the State's preferential policies related to health care, education, housing, soft loans, vocational training, jobs, labour export, clean water and hygiene, information, production support; livelihood diversification and models of poverty reduction.
The national target programme on sustainable poverty reduction in the 2021-2021 period in Ninh Binh covers projects related to diversifying livelihoods, developing models of poverty reduction; supporting production development and improving nutrition; developing vocational training and sustainable employment; and improving capacity, inspection and review of the programme.
In addition, the programme also puts forth general poverty reduction support policies such as preferential credit policies; and subsidies in power bills, health care, education, and housing.
The provincial People's Committee assigned specific tasks to local departments, sectors, agencies, units, and localities to effectively implement the national target programme on sustainable poverty reduction in the period of 2021-2025.
