Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels are reliable addresses to receive donations from people, enterprises and organisations throughout the country and abroad, then allocate and support beneficiaries under the current legal regulations.
In the first six months of 2023, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels mobilized over 3.3 billion VND to repair and build 53 charity houses. They provided production tools, free medical examinations and health insurance cards for poor people and gave financial aid to disadvantaged students with a total amount of 291 million VND.
In the 2015-2020 period, 3,253 revolutionary contributors and poor families have been supported in housing with more than 120 billion VND. With the recorded outcomes, Ninh Binh is ranked among top centrally-run cities and provinces nationwide in providing housing support social policy beneficiaries and the poor.
On the occasion of the lunar New Year of the Cat 2023, Ninh Binh presented over 150,000 Tet gifts worth 61.5 billion VND in total to the poor, social policy beneficiaries, needy households and individuals.
Implementing the National Target Programme on Sustainable Poverty Reduction in the period of 2021-2025, localities have carried out numerous projects, production models, provided financial aid and tools for the poor and near-poor families, thereby improving their livelihoods and incomes remarkably.
In 2022, the social credit programmes provided loans for over 10,000 labourers and 2,400 disadvantaged students; support money to build and improve 25,000 clean water works and 160 houses for the poor and social policy beneficiary families.
These activities have helped Ninh Binh reduce its poverty rate remarkably. Under the multidimensional poverty criteria, by the end of 2022, Ninh Binh had 7,438 poor households and 8,829 near-poor families, accounting for 2.36% and 2.81% of the province's total households, respectively.
