The provincial Department of Tourism reported that in the reviewed period, revenue from tourism reached 3.66 trillion VND (155 million USD), making up 44.36% of the yearly plan, and posting a year-on-year increase of nearly 46%.
The province set a target of welcoming 7.5 million tourists in 2024, including 900,000 international guests, with turnover of around 8.25 trillion VND (350 million USD).
Bui Van Manh, Director of the Department of Tourism, said that in a bid to reach the target, Ninh Binh has focused resources on completing infrastructure at tourist sites; built a waterway route connecting Ninh Binh city and Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex and Hoa Lu ancient capital; and mobilised resources to build new tourism products in combination with cultural industries.
The province has also encouraged investors to build tourism and service complexes, shopping centers, entertainment establishments, walking streets, night markets and luxury hotels and restaurants.
It has also diversified tourism types, such as cultural tourism, spiritual tourism, sport tourism, resort tourism, MICE tourism and nighttime tourism.
Ninh Binh has made greater efforts to expand markets, enhance tourism promotion on the mass media, apply digital transformation in tourism in a bid to connect and support tourists.
The department has also directed tourist site management boards to strictly implement measures to ensure order and security, and environment hygiene, and prepare enough workforce to serve tourists.
