In 1992, Ninh Binh township's infrastructure remained poor and its roads were small and downgraded. So, Ninh Binh townhip's authorities paid due attention to building and upgrading its infrastructure, power line systems, roads, schools and medical stations, focusing on building urban roads and water drainage systems and planting urban trees. These were a basic foundation to create a cultural and civilised urban appearance.
In addition, Ninh Binh township also wiped out lime kilns and brick kilns which were considered major causes behind environmental pollution and harmed urban beauty.
In the afterward years, Ninh Binh township expanded its administrative area and developed urban technical infrastructure. It was recognised as provincial city in 2007 and second-tier city in 2014.
Besides, numerous big projects were invested and built by the government, Ninh Binh province and Ninh Binh city, namely Sports Hall, King Dinh Tien Hoang Square, Trang An culture park, Van River embankment, Bien Bach lake and May Xay lake.
Parks, roads, and lighting systems were built with capital contributed by companies and individuals in a bid to shape a new urban appearance for Ninh Binh city.
These days, the city's Party Organisation and people have been organising various practical activities to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Ninh Binh appellation and the province's 30thanniversary of re-establishment. They are striving to build Ninh Binh into a first-tier city and a city of tourism in the future.
