In February, Ninh Binh granted certificates of investment to eight projects, seven projects higher than the number in the same period last year. It also permitted 10 other projects to adjust their investment registration certificates.
In the two first months of 2024, 180 new firms were established in the province with total registered capital of 916.2 billion VND, posting a rise of 26.9% as compared to the same period of the previous year.
Though the country's economy has continued to meet with difficulties due to the effects of the global situation, Ninh Binh has still become a magnet to lure investment. Its business environment has also created favourable conditions for local enterprises.
Dinh Thi Thuy Ngan, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, said that the outcomes are attributed to special attention from the Ninh Binh provincial People's Committee. Provincial leaders have maintained monthly dialogues with local firms to listen their opinions and proposals so as to give out solutions to remove difficulties and hindrances for them.
The provincial People's Committee has also cooperated with ministries, sectors organisations, embassies and localities to organise investment promotion activities to call for investment into the province.
In an attempt to spur investment promotion activities in 2024 and the following years, the provincial People's Committee has asked departments, sectors, agencies and localities to build investment promotion programmes in line with the province's master planning scheme for 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050.
The province also provides practical policies and solutions to ensure interests of investors and maintain the competitiveness and attractiveness of the local investment climate.
It also reviews industrial parks to prepare cleared land lots, staying ready to welcome foreign investment waves. The provincial authorities will speed up land site clearance and the construction of infrastructure at industrial zones and clusters in a bid to hand over the grounds to investors.
