Ninh Binh seeks solutions to boost economic growth in second half of 2022
Top leaders of the province attended the meeting.
According to the figures released by the provincial Statistics Office, the province's gross regional domestic product (GRDP) was estimated to reach 22.57 trillion VND (970 million USD) in the first half of 2022, up 3.53% over the same period last year and accounted for 46.5 percent of the yearly plan. The figure was quite low in comparison to the set target of 7%for the whole year, and it is the lowest figure in the past five years.
The reasons were the low growth of industrial production, undiversified industrial products and the decline of some key manufacturing sectors.
The site clearance work serving for some projects was still sluggish, badly affecting production and business plans and market opportunitiesof investors.
The province's agro-forestry-fishery production maintained its growth momentum, reaching 1,76%.
The service sector saw strong recovery with total value of nearly 7.7 trillion VND, up 5.73% as compared to the same period of 2021, and higher than the yearly target of 5.5%.
Ninh Binh's export turnover hit 1.83 billion USD, a year-on-year rise of 44.3% and making up 65.4% of the yearly plan.
Tourism activities have been flourishing. Ninh Binh was listed among 11 most attractive destinations nationwide.
The province's state budget collection hit 10.76 trillion VND (450 million USD), making up 53.8% of the yearly estimate and up 1.1% as compared to the same period last year.
At the meeting, leaders of departments and sectors suggested some solutions to ensure the growth of industrial production such as promptly removing difficulties, supporting and creating favourable conditions for firms to manufacture key products that have great contributions to the province's economic growth, budget collection, recovery and development.
One of the most important solutions is to assist Hyundai Thanh Cong Company in maintaining its production while quickly putting its second factory into operation to have more new products.
Investors are urged to complete infrastructure of industrial clusters to attract more projects, and ensure adequate supply of electricity and water for production in industrial zones and clusters.
In addition, it is necessary to step up the communication work so that businesses can access the State's fiscal policy.Participants stressed the need to ensure transparency of investment attraction information and accelerate the building of digital administration, digital economy and the equitisation of state-owned enterprises.
The province needs to focus on developing tourism and services, considering these sectors as the drivers of growth in the last 6 months of the year.
In his conclusion, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Pham Quang Ngoc said that, to ensure the growth rate in 2022, it will organise numerous meetings to evaluate comprehensively and propose solutions to promote development.
Ngoc also urged heads of the departments and sectors and the Chairperons of the People's Committees of districts and cities to review their affairs and map out specific solutions to solve existing problems and focus on new tasks.
The Department of Planning and Investment and the Statistics Office need to exchange the monthly statistic figures so that they could consult the provincial People's Committee in instructing and implementing solutions to promote comprehensive growth in the year-end months and the following years.
