Yen Hoa commune was honoured for its outstanding achievements in carrying out digital transformation.
The programme was jointly organised by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and Lao Dong (Labour) Newspaper.
The annual event was first held in 2004. To date, a total of 258 collectives and individuals were honoured by the "Vietnam Glory" programme.
In 2020, Yen Hoa was among 12 communes nationwide selected by the Ministry of Information and Communications to pilot the model of "smart commune".
After two years of implementation, Yen Hoa commune has reaped positive outcomes. Currently, 100% of officials and civil servants are using digital signatures and software to manage documents and websites.
All documents, files and administrative procedures at the commune level have been received and solved via the single-window system.
All 10 villages of the commune have access to the Internet; the rate of people using smartphones is over 70%; 90% of households have access to the Internet, and 100% of agencies have computers and internet connections.
The commune has granted 1,722 accounts on the app "Digital citizens" for local people.
Specialties of the commune have been put on sale on e-commerce platforms.
In addition, Yen Hoa has conducted digitalization in the educational and medical sectors, creating favourable conditions for local people as well as forming a smart commune.
