Implementing the movement "War veterans join hands in building new-style countryside and civilised urban areas, war veterans' associations at all levels in Ninh Binh province have mobilised their members to contribute money, working days and knowledgeto help localities fulfill criteria set for new-style rural areas.
During the 2017-2022 tenure, local war veterans donated over 6.7 billion VND, nearly 50,000 working days, and more than 60,000 sq.m of land and removed nearly 9.500 meters of fences to expand roads and build social welfare works.
In particular, local associations of war veterans have built environmental protection clubs; joined in ensuring traffic safety at school gates; cleaned the environment and classified household garbage at home.
To date, war veterans in Ninh Binh have built 327 environmental protection clubs, seven models of war veterans taking part in ensuring traffic safety at school gates, 115 models of clean houses and beautiful gardens, planted over 150,000 green and fruit trees, thus contributing effectively to the movement of building new-style, advanced new-style and model new-style rural areas.
