The plan aims at coping with a circumstance when COVID-19 infections are detected in the community and tourist accommodation establishments; ensuring enough eligible hotels for COVID-19 prevention and control; promptly removing difficulties faced by enterprises; protecting tourists' legitimate rights and interests; maintaining stable operations of tourism activities, and keeping Ninh Binh's image as a safe, friendly and hospitable destination.
The Department has also mapped out emerging circumstances by closely monitoring and early detecting high-risk or suspected cases in the community in order to take timely measures; stepping up the coordination among units, agencies, and staff in tourism sector in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic; providing official and exact information about the situation and measures related to COVID-19 infections to tourism enterprises and tourists.
Basing on the reality and instructions of the health sector, the Department of Tourims devised a 5-level plan to cope with possible COVID-19 outbreaks.
In the first level, the province has yet to record any COVID-19 infections in the community or at tourist sites (while neighbouring provinces reported COVID-19 infections, or infections in quarantine establishments).
The second level defined as the first case of infection detected in the community, and it spreads in the community with 50 cases are recorded.
The third level, the number of COVID-19 infections rises up to 100; The four level, the number of infections reaches 100-300 cases in the community (the high risk of infection); And the highest level appears when the pandemic spreads widely with over 300 COVID-19 infections recorded in the community (the extremely high risk of infection).
The Department of Tourism's steering committee for COVID-19 prevention and control regularly updates the pandemic situation, and follows the provincial Peoples Committee's instructions to carry out suitable measures.
It organises delegations to inspect the COVID-19 prevention and control work at tourist sites and hotels and lodging establishments in the province.
Based on the reality, the department also coordinates with other sectors, units, agencies and localities to choose accommodation facilities to serve concentrated quarantine when requested.
