Ninh Binh's tourism sector enjoys positive recovery in eight months

After the COVID-19 was basically controlled, Ninh Binh's tourism activities have been revived and seen robust growth. Ninh Binh has been seen as a safe, friendly and attractive destination, and is listed among 10 cities and provinces nationwide with the strongest tourism recovery in the recent time.
Ninh Binh's tourism sector enjoys positive recovery in eight months
In August, the province welcomed 320,000 visitors, including 315,000 domestic and nearly 5,000 foreign tourists.
Total revenue from tourism services hit nearly 260 billion VND (11 million USD).
In the first eight months of 2022, Ninh Binh received nearly 2.5 million tourists, fulfilling the yearly target and equivalent to 270% of the figure in the same period last year. Of whom, domestic travellers were 2.45 million while foreign visitors were 50,000.
The tourism sector earned 1.7 trillion VND (72.6 million USD), equivalent to 96.3% of the yearly plan and 285% of the amount in the same period last year.
The outcomes were attributed to the efforts of the provincial Department of Tourism to enhance state management on tourism.
The department has stepped up control over the quality of accommodation establishments, services and travel guides; increased inspections to ensure security order, infrastructure, environment and services of travel firms.
It also provided support for tour guides and travel firms who suffered negative impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In addition, the Department of Tourism held a meeting to collect opinions from local departments, sectors, agencies and local tourism companies on a draft resolution regulating policies on the development of tourism in the province in the 2022-20230 period.
It has also boosted tourism promotion activities by participating in travel fairs and forums.
Besides, the department has regularly collected information, studied domestic and international markets; introduced tourism potential through domestic tourism promotion programmes; organised tours for famtrip, presstrip, bloggers and youtubers to connect and promote local destinations and worked with film producers to choose Ninh Binh for shooting movies.

At the same time, the department focused on accelerating digital transformation in tourism management and promotion activities; building a digital tourism map and a digital information system, and setting up free wifi systems and kiosks in some famous destinations.
It also launched a tourism portal to introduce Ninh Binh's tourism in three languages and increased advertisements about local destinations on social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Youtube, and Twitter.
These synchronic measures are hoped to help Ninh Binh's tourism sector revive strongly and become a spearhead economic industry, thus creating growth momentum for other fields.
