The COVID-19 pandemic has had great impacts on consumers' income, resulting in a fall in purchase power.
By effectively applying COVID-19 prevention and control measures, Ninh Binh has quickly shifted to safely and flexibly adapting to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, activities of trade, services, restaurants and hotels have gradually resumed, thus improving the province's trade and service revenues in November.
According to the provincial Department of Statistics, after two consecutive months of dropping, the November CPI saw a minor increase of 0.75 percent as compared to the previous month, and up 1.52 percent against the same period last year.
Seven groups of goods and services saw increases, including transportation; restaurants and catering; household appliances; culture, entertainments and tourism; education and other goods and services.
In order to stimulate consumer spending, create a lever for economic growth in the year-end month, the provincial Department of Industry and Trade has kicked off the national promotion programme "Vietnam Grand Sale 2021" in the province, offering products with discounted prices for consumers.
Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Hoang Trung Kien said the programme "Vietnam Grand Sale 2021" aims to stimulate shopping, improve goods circulation, and increase service revenues in the country, helping enterprises revive production and business activities, and gradually recovering the economy.
The industry and trade sector has expanded the programme to the whole province and combined traditional trade with e-commerce to popularise the programme widely and attract the participation of businesses in all fields.
Through the programmes, local firms have offered numerous promotions with discounted prices and quality products.
At the same time, it would help raise consumers' awareness of Vietnamese goods and services.
Nguyen Khai Hoan, head of the department's trade management division, said the programme has drawn reponse from a large number of local businesses. These firms have well prepared quality goods and offered numerous promotion programmes in an attempt to boost consumer spending in the year-end month.
