Tung expressed his delight to welcome the Korean official and his delegation.
He informed the delegation about Ninh Binh's cooperative relations with the Republic of Korea's Asan and Jecheon cities, affirming that these ties have helped strengthen the relationship between Vietnam and the RoK and boost the province's socio-economic development.
Ninh Binh is delighted to be selected to benefit from the RoK Government-funded project on "Restoration and sustainable management of mangroves in the Red River Delta", which will be carried out in Kim Son district, he said, adding that it would help the province to cope with climate change.
Tung also expressed his desire to expand cooperative ties between Ninh Binh and the RoK's agencies and localities in the coming time, and proposed the Korean official introduce the province's images and potential to Korean partners and investors, especially in the fields of agriculture and forestry.
For his part, Lim said during his visit, the two sides would discuss agricultural cooperation.
The RoK Government expected that the project on "Restoration and sustainable management of mangroves in the Red River Delta" would reduce climate change and CO2 emissions. Mangroves would act shields protecting local residents from natural disasters such as storms and floods, therefore the RoK Government hoped to receive support from Ninh Binh's authorities so that mangroves areas could be expanded.
Following the working session, the Korean delegation attended a ceremony to start the plantation of mangroves in Con Noi area of Kim Son district.
