According to the Department of Industry and Trade's report, in the January-June period, the province's industrial production value reached nearly 51 trillion VND (2.15 billion USD), a year-on-year increase of 5.8%.
Of which, the production value of mining reached 301 billion VND (up 8.7%); processing industry, over 50.02 trillion VND (up 5.8%); production and distribution of electricity, 497 billion VND (up 3.9%); water supply, management and treatment of waste and wastewater, 160.7 billion VND (up 10.5%).
Some industrial products saw increases such as electronic components (up 4.3%); camera lens (up 35.2%) and cars of five seats or more (up 11.6%).
In order to create breakthroughs for industrial production in the remaining months of 2023, the Department of Industry and Trade will keep a close watch on production and business activities of local firms in a bid to provide timely support and remove difficulties for enterprises; and survey the investment, production and business performance of investors and secondary investors in industrial zones and clusters.
Besides, the sector will coordinate and support firms in terms of attracting labourers, creating jobs, expanding export markets, simplifying customs procedures and related administrative procedures; step up online administrative procedures in a bid to create favourable conditions for local people, organisations and enterprises.
It will implement effectively programmes on industrial expansion encouragement, trade promotion and developing supporting industries in 2023; and finalise a project on industry promotion for the province and the country in 2024.
In the time to come, the sector will also put forth a plan on developing industrial zones and clusters in the province.
