The figures were announced by the provincial Statistics Office at a press conference on December 29.
The province's economic structure has continued to shift towards the direction of reducing the ratio of agro-forestry-fishery while increasing the ratio of services. The service sector has become a strength of the province as the tourism industry has received due attention and investment to turn itself into a spearhead economic sector.
The agro-forestry-fishery generated almost 4.7 trillion VND (193.65 million USD), up 2.86% and the industry-construction sector reached 18.97 trillion VND (781.62 million USD), up 2.95% while the service sector raked in 20.4 trillion VND (840.54 million USD), up 13.23% year on year.
The province's state budget collection hit 16.43 trillion VND (676.97 million USD), equivalent to 73.4% of the estimate assigned by the provincial People's Council and down 32.3% from the figure of the previous year.
Total development investment in Ninh Binh reached 32.15 trillion VND (1.32 billion USD), a year-on-year increase of 7.5%.
The building of new-style rural areas, advanced new-style rural areas and model new-style rural areas has reaped positive and comprehensive outcomes, and surpassed the set targets.
The trade and service sector has witnessed strong performance while export-import activities have been maintained.
Tourism activities have been bouncing back and developing. The province welcomed nearly 6.6 million tourists, a year-on-year rise of 77.7% and 23.3% higher than the yearly plan.
Revenue from tourism was estimated at 6.51 trillion VND (268.23 million USD), surpassing the yearly plan by 26.5%.
In 2023, the province created jobs for 20,500 workers, provided vocational training for 17,600 labourers and introduced employment opportunities to 35,600 labourers.
Ninh Binh has paid due attention to social welfare and poverty reduction, and maintained social order and security.
