2024 is a breakthrough year that plays an important role for Ninh Binh to implement the five-year socio-economic development plan 2021-2025.
According to the provincial Statistics Office, the province's GRDP was estimated to reach 41.38 trillion VND (1.77 billion USD) in the January-September period, up 8.45% from the same period last year.
The agro-forestry-fishery generated almost 3.47 trillion VND (148 million USD), up 3% and the industry-construction sector reached 14.39 trillion VND (613 million USD), up 10.77% while the service sector raked in 16.24 trillion VND (696 million USD), up 9,43 % year on year.
The province's industrial production witnessed sound performance. In the reviewed period, the province's industrial production was estimated to reach 11.92%. Of which, mineral exploitation up 15.62%; processing and manufacturing industry up 11.42%; electricity production and distribution up 27.57%.
The trade and service sector has witnessed strong performance. Vibrant tourism activities have spurred accommodation and restaurant services while export-import activities have recovered positively.
The province's total retail sales exceeded 59 trillion VND (2.53 billion USD), a year-on-year increase of 25.9%.
Export firms continued to promote the production of key products or products of its strengths, in which paying attention to developing traditional markets and expanding new ones. Therefore, the import-export activities witnessed positive growth.
In the first nine months of 2024, the province's total export value reached over 2.6 billion USD, posting a year-on-year rise of 10.6%.
Some key export earners included footwear (765 million USD), camera and components (563 million USD); cement and clinker (417 million USD); clothes 259.2 (million USD); electronic components (11 million USD); and automobile spare parts (108 million USD).
The province's total import value was estimated to hit 2.38 billion USD, up 15.5% against the same period last year.
The tourism sector continued to reap significant outcomes. Specifically, in the January-September period, the province served nearly 7.3 million visitors, including 6.3 million domestic tourists and 907,000 foreigners, up 32% compared to the same period last year and making 97% of the yearly plan.
The number of tourists staying overnight was more than 1.5 million, making 96% of the yearly plan and up 55.3%.
The tourism sector earned over 7.25 trillion VND in revenue, representing 87.9% of the yearly plan and up 43% from the same period of 2023.
