The result was attributed to the province's effective measures to promote trade and expand markets as well as local enterprises' efforts.
In addition, the higher demand for goods in the year-end months is expected to give a boost to the province's export recovery.
In the current context, import-export activities of local firms have met numerous difficulties while good orders have been reduced or cancelled and new orders of some key export staples have seen a decrease as compared to the same period last year.
In a bid to ease difficulties for local export enterprises, the provincial People's Committee has asked administrations at all levels and sectors to coordinate in implementing support policies.
The Department of Industry and Trade has supported the businesses community to capitalize on benefits from free trade agreements, thereby maintaining the growth of export, focusing on the export of key staples such as camera modules, electronic components, automobile spare parts, garments, footwear, processed agricultural products and handicrafts.
At the same time, it has assisted local firms to take part in global value chains in order to improve their production and export capacity.
Besides, the department has carried out 124 projects to help enterprises participate in trade promotion activities to seek partners and expand domestic and foreign markets.
Moreover, local firms have actively overcome difficulties, take the initiative in production and business activities, sought new markets and fully exploited benefits form FTAs.
Thanks to these measures, the province's export activities have reaped positive outcomes and seen signs of recovery in the third quarter of 2023. In October, Ninh Binh's export turnover reached 298 million USD, a year-on-year rise of 21.5%.
Some key export staples enjoyed big revenues such as garments, cement and clinker, footwear, cameras and mobile phone components, electronic components, and automobile spare parts.
The province's products have been exported to over 80 countries and territories worldwide. Local firms have improved their competitiveness capacity and initially taken part in global value chains.
Ngo Minh Kim, Vice Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said that there are signs of export recovery in the year-end months, such as positive developments of the international situation, as well as curbed inflation and growing consumption in targeted export markets.
In order to take these opportunities, the department has advised the provincial People's Committee to step up measures to support businesses by reducing costs, accelerating tax refund and providing credit, thus creating favourable conditions for local firms to maintain production and business, and import materials.
In the coming time, the Ministry of Industry and Trade would step up negotiations and signing of new trade deals with potential partners such as the UAE and MERCOSUR to diversify markets and supply chains.
