According to the provincial Statistics Office, the province's industrial production continued to expand in July and maintained relatively high growth as compared to the same period last year, with a year-on-year rise of 17.77%.
In the first seven months of 2024, the index of industrial production (IIP) saw a year-on-year increase of 11.35%. Of which, the mining industry grew by 17.06%; processing and manufacturing industry up 10.52%; electricity production and distribution up 36.45%; water supply, and waste management and treatment up 4.04%.
Total retail sales of goods in the January-July period exceeded 46 trillion VND, a year-on-year increase of 26.3%.
Most groups of commodities enjoyed high growth, such as food and foodstuff with 17.29 trillion VND (up 30.1%), garments with over 2.33 trillion VND (up 34.3%); and cultural and educational products with 261.2 billion VND (up 42.4%).
The province's total export value reached 281.5 million USD in July, up 8.3% from the same month last year.
In the first seven months of 2024, the total export value was estimated to hit 1.93 billion USD, representing a year-on-year rise of 8.8%.
Some key export staples are footwear with 542.8 million USD; camera and components with 406.6 million USD; cement and clinker with 357 million USD; clothes with 182.8 million USD; and electronic components with 82.2 million USD.
In July, the province's total import value was estimated to hit 284.5 million USD, posting a year-on-year rise of 18.3%.
In the first seven months of 2024, the total import value reached 1.8 billion USD, up 12.6% compared to the same period last year.
In July, Ninh Binh welcomed nearly 406,000 tourist arrivals, up 20.5% year on year.
The number of tourists staying overnight reached 112,400, up 19.3% against the same period of the previous year.
Total revenue from tourism activities hit 454.6 billion VND, up 13.9% as compared to the same period last year.
In the January-July period, the province served over 6.52 million visitors, posting a rise of 33.8% from the same period last year.
Of the total, over 5.77 million were domestic travellers and 746,800 were international tourists, representing a year-on-year increase of 24.7% and a 3.1-fold rise, respectively.
The number of tourists staying overnight reached more than 1.25 million, up 66.7% against the same period of the previous year.
Total revenue from tourism activities hit nearly 6.27 trillion VND, up 47.6% as compared to the same period last year.
