A delegation of Ninh Binh province led by member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Doan Minh Huan paid a working trip to the Republic of Korea (RoK) from June 24-27.
Ninh Binh's delegation pays working trip to RoK
During the working trip, the delegation visited and worked with leaders of Asan, Ansan, Busan, Gyeongju and Suncheon cities and Jeollanam province and paid a courtesy call to the Vietnamese Ambassador to the RoK.
At the working sessions, the delegation briefed the hosts on Ninh Binh's socio-economic situation, major orientations in investment attraction and socio-economic development, especially tourism and trade development.
The delegation also expressed the province's wish to continue to foster cooperation in automobile assembly; automobile supporting industry; electronics; and green and circular economic development.
They also suggested cooperation in the fields of communications-advertisement, building film studios - cinema, photography and entertainment in association with restoring and exploiting the value of Hoa Lu citadel - millennium ancient capital.
Ninh Binh also hoped to cooperate with RoK investors in building and developing hi-tech zones, semiconductor chip production, AI-based technologies and big data, and support centers for start-ups and renovation.
The RoK side shared information and suggested solutions to spur bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and the RoK in general, and between Ninh Binh and Asan, Ansan and Busan cities in particular.
The delegation made field trips to Oeam Folk ancient village, Yonsei Milk Company, and Hyundai automobile factory.
The delegation also held talks with Park Gyung-gi, Mayor of Asan city, to review the outcomes of cooperation between NinhBinh and Asan city in the past few years and discussed contents of cooperation in the coming time.
The two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on sending receiving Ninh Binh's seasonal agricultural labourers to work in Asan city.
The delegation visited and worked with K-Unicorn Institute, and the Institute of Startups and Innovation under the Korea SMEs & Startups Agency (KOSME) in Ansan city to learn about ways to build and develop knowledge-based economy, renovation as well as mechanisms and policies to support start-ups.
During their visit, the delegation also worked with Joo Nak-young, Mayor of Gyeongju city, to study mechanisms on managing urban heritage city-ancient capital and model of restoring and preserving cultural heritage as well as experience to build and manage a heritage city.
Huan expressed his wish that Ninh Binh and Gyeongji would build close, long-term and sustainable bilateral relations, thus contributing to strengthening the relationship between Vietnam and the RoK.
The delegation also worked with the management board of Suncheon film studio in Jeollanam province to learn about the mechanism for investing, building, managing and operating the film studio, thus drawing experiences in developing the cultural sector and film studios in Ninh Binh.
