Every year, the Ha Nam Ninh Department of Customs has regularly organised dialogues with businesses to listen to their hindrances and difficulties, then to seek suitable solutions to ease difficulties for them.
Implementing the strategy on customs development for the period of 2021-2030, Ninh Binh's customs sector built a smart and digital customs system in a modern and professional manner.
The smart and digital custom system allows enterprises to declare customs procedures at anytime, anywhere and by any devices. This also helps minimise clearance time of goods and reducing logistic costs as well. The system also permits firms to follow the progress of clearance, thus ensuring transparency and convenience.
Nguyen Thu Nhieu, Director of the Ha Nam Ninh Department of Customs, said, in the past years, the department has always strived to speed up administrative reform in a bid to create favourable conditions for import-export activities. The time for goods clearance has been reduced remarkably.
The duration from receiving export declaration forms to customs clearance has reduced by 1 hour and 28 minutes.
Currently, the department has been implementing over 1,000 online procedures and services.
At the Ninh Binh Sub-department of Customs, some 200 enterprises have registered to handle administrative procedures on the online public service portal and 100% of files have been handled on time.
By applying information and digital technologies, the customs sector has supported enterprise in speeding up production and business. With this support, export-import activities have recovered positively.
In the first five months of 2024, the province's total export revenue reached 1.39 billion USD, representing a year-on-year increase of 10.2%.
Export staples with high growth included electronic components (up 43%); embroidery products (up 45%); optical glasses (up 33.2%); automobile spare parts (up 78.4%); toys (up 2.8 folds).
Meanwhile, the total import turnover reached over 1.21 billion USD, posting a year-on-year of 7.3%.
In the time to come, the Ha Nam Ninh Department of Customs will continue improving facilities and equipment to enhance the quality of the customs system; and provide training courses for customs officers in a bid to meet the requirements of the new context.
At the same time, the department will also continue to develop the relationship between the customs sector and enterprises in an attempt to popularise new regulations, policies and mechanisms related to administrative procedures and to handle hindrances and difficulties for firms, the official added.
Under the goal of accompanying and being a reliable partner of enterprises, the customs sector is making concerted efforts to reform administrative procedures, support firms to reduce clearance time, and create favourable conditions for trade activities and goods clearance, thus contributing to the province's socio-economic development.
