In the first nine months of 2022, amid the complicated developments of weather conditions, diseases on livestock herds, and high prices of input materials, the agriculture sector has implemented synchronic measures to ensure the supply of food and essential commodities. The sector is expected to reach a growth rate of 2.5% this year.
In terms of cultivation, the total area of crops was 92,580 hectares, including 71,200 hectares of rice.
The total herds of buffalos, cows, pigs and chickens witnessed an increase while the fishery maintained its stable growth.
As for the programme on new-style rural area building, by the end of September, Ninh Binh had 119 out of 119 communes regognised as new-style rural areas, including 11 model new-style rural areas, and seven out of eight cities and districts have fulfilled the tasks of building new-style rural areas.
In the recent time, the province's agriculture sector has actively sped up administrative procedure reform, application of IT, and digital transformation and building of e-administration.
In the year-end months, the sector will focus on harvesting rice areas and expanding the area of crop farming in the winter season.
It will also enhance disease prevention and control in poultry and animals; review and complete criteria set for advanced new-style rural area building in the period of 2021-2025.
