The northern province of Ninh Binh greeted 1,453,000 tourists in February, a year-on-year rise of 40.9 percent and made a tourism revenue of 312.9 billion VND (13.9 million USD), a rise of 49.4 percent against the same period last year, according to the provincial statistics office.
The February figure brought the total number of arrivals in the first two months to 1.7 million, up 43.9 percent from the same period last year.
Of the arrivals, domestic visitors rose by 46.3 percent, and international visitors were up 17.4 percent over 2015, the office reported.
The visitors brought to the local tourism sector an estimated revenue of 392.6 billion VND (17.5 million USD), which reflected a surge of 50.9 percent against the sum recorded a year earlier.
