Ninh Binh posted an economic growth rate of 7.56% growth in the first half of 2023, ranking 6th in the Red River Delta and 12th out of the country's 63 provinces and centrally-run cities.

The figure was announced at a press conference held on June 29 by the provincial Statistics Office.
Ninh Binh province's gross regional domestic product (GRDP) was estimated to reach 25.08 trillion VND, (1.07 billion USD), up 7.56% from the same period of the previous year. The service sector witnessed the highest growth with 15.72%.
The agriculture sector has enjoyed favourable weather conditions for crop cultivation and livestock breeding.
Meanwhile, industrial production has met difficulties as local firms lacked orders and markets have been narrowed. The index of industrial production saw a year-on-year increase of 2.19%.
The province's total export value hit 1.53 billion USD, down 3.3%, while the import value fell by 18.4% to 1.39 billion USD.
The trade and service sector have been recovering and developing strongly, particularly in the fields of tourism, and accommodation and catering services.
During the January-June period, Ninh Binh welcomed over 4.53 million visitors, a 2.5-fold rise against the same period last year. The tourism sector earned nearly 3.85 trillion VND, a 2.9- fold rise and making up 74.7% of the yearly plan.
Total retail sales of goods in the province hit almost 31.4 trillion VND, a year-on-year rise of 42%.
In the first six months of 2023, nearly 10,000 labourers have been provided with jobs, while over 9,000 labourers have taken part in vocational training courses.
Social order and security have been ensured and the lives of local people have been stabilised.
