A ceremony celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage will be held on September 6 in the northern province of Ninh Binh.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's plan, the celebration will be organised in a national scale in parallel with a welcome ceremony for UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay.
The activities will be jointly held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province, and the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO at the Bai Dinh International Convention Center.
The Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee has chosen a prestigious unit and a director to set up scenarios and organise the art performances at the celebration.
At the same time, it has stepped up the communication work with flags and banners decorated at the Bai Dinh International Convention Center and other areas in the province.

Meanwhile, other preparations related to accommodation, social order and security and traffic safety are well ensured.
As for medical matters, food safety has been carefully controlled while the disinfection to prevent the COVID-19 and other diseases at the convention center has been also implemented.
As planned, various activities are scheduled to be held, including a photo exhibition, painting and film shooting on world cultural and natural heritage sites in Vietnam, and art programmes.
The celebration and reception for the UNESCO Director General will show the role, contributions and responsibility of Vietnam in joining hands with the international community in promoting the convention's values and widely popularizing Vietnam's achievements in preserving and promoting world heritages to UNESCO member nations and the international community.
