Ninh Binh provincial People's Council's delegation pays working visit to UK, Ireland

The visit aimed to exchange experiences in affairs of people-elected deputies, building socio-economic development policies, foreign investment attraction and international trade cooperation; and promote the province's strengths, investment environment and tourism potential.

On October 24, the delegation visited and worked with the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK.

Receiving the delegation were Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK and Ireland Nguyen Hoang Long and the embassy's staff.

At the working session, Chairman of the Ninh Binh provincial People's council Mai Van Tuat informed participants about the province's potential, strengths, socio-economic development achievements as well as the provincial People's Council's operations.

He mentioned the fields the province needs consultancy and cooperation such as tourism, labour training for tourism, clean and hi-tech industries, supporting industry; digital transformation in state management and business activities; building urban heritage urban area, health care and education.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK and Ireland Nguyen Hoang Long suggested some ideas related to cooperation in the coming time such as organising tourism promotion programmes in the UK, cooperation in developing resort villas, developing agriculture, labour export, digital transformation, investment in health care; non-public education, connecting with and joining in council of Vietnam-UK universities.

As the part of the visit, the delegation also attended the inauguration ceremony of a project on repairing Uncle Ho statue in Newhaven town's museum.

During the five-day visit, the delegation had a working session with the Mayor of Newhaven town in Lewes district in the Sussex region to step up cooperation in the fields of tourism, trade and logistics.

They then worked with the London centre for urban innovation to learn experience in digital transformation in  managing urban areas, businesses, and protecting the environment and ecosystem.

The delegation worked with the West London Chambers of Commerce to set up bilateral cooperation in promoting investment, trade, services and socio-economic development of Ninh Binh.

The delegation also worked with the Irish Business and Employers' Confederation to exchange views on promoting bilateral trade, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, and cooperation opportunities between firms of Ireland and Ninh Binh.

Ninh Binh's officials also visited Chester Beatty Museum in Dublin capital to learn experiences in self-management and ways to operate exhibitions at the museum.
