Currently, local small- and medium-sized enterprises, cooperatives and business households have been assisted to provide products and services on e-commerce platforms such as postmart.vn. and voso.vn, thereby expanding consumption markets, increasing their capacity, boosting goods production and earning more revenues.
Mai Quang Kin, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director of Yen Hoa Cooperative in Yen Mo district, said taking part in e-commerce platform postmart.vn has helped it popularise products, connect to customers and expand the domestic market.
The cooperative has sold around 15,000-20,000 products each year with a turnover of 1 billion VND.
Hoang Van Canh, Vice Chairman of the Yen Hoa Commune People's Committee, said in 2020, Yen Hoa was selected by the Ministry of Information and Communications to pilot the model of "smart commune" and implement digital transformation in three fields of digital administration, digital society and digital economy.
The digital economy has helped local people and businesses change their ways of selling, advertising and building brands for their products on e-commercial platforms.
Local products have been sold on e-commerce platforms and social networks with clear labels and stamps of origin traceability. The local income has tripled since the commune has applied digital transformation.
Over 2,000 addresses have been digitalised in a bid to connect and share data to serve the community and digital economy development.
The provincial People's Committee has issued Document No. 446/UBND-VP6 on accelerating the implementation of digital economy and digital society development tasks.
The provincial People's Committee assigned agencies, units and localities to continue implementing the national strategy on developing the digital economy and digital society.
To date, turnover from e-commerce accounts for over 8% of the province's total retail sales. Some 107,000 accounts have been opened on e-commerce platforms. Nearly 1,900 products have been put for sale on e-commerce platforms with 25,000 transactions worth 5.1 billion VND conducted.
The fact proved that developing digital economy is a right method to develop products, IT services and digital businesses, thereby helping Ninh Binh to become one of the leading provinces in comprehensive digital transformation.
