To date, some local agricultural products in Ninh Binh province like vegetables and fruits have origin traceability stamps when being traded on the market. Agricultural products that are stuck with the stamps are safe and organic farm produce cultivated under safe farming practices such as VietGap and Global Gap standards.
Farmers unions at all levels have promptly supported its members to apply technological and scientific advances into agricultural production.
In 2021, the provincial Farmers' Union carried out numerous programmes to support start-ups and provide training courses on trading skills and organising retail networks and consumption channels.
At the same time, it also worked with VNPT to grant QR codes for origin traceability to 248,000 products of local households. This has created momentum for farmers to work, improve their working skills and apply technology in production, thereby establishingreliable sale channels and advertising farm produce efficiently.
The Centre for Hi-tech Agriculture and Trade Promotion, the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the provincial Farmers Union have supported 20 agricultural products with stamps of origin traceability.
The outcomes remain modest but they show the efficiency of applying digital technology in production, promotion and consumption of agricultural products in the fourth industrial revolution.
The building of origin traceability stamps helps raise values, improve competitiveness and build brand names for local farm produce, thus contributing to the project "Ninh Binh farmers say no to unhygienic food."
