97 FDI projects worth 1.67 billion USD
Ninh Binh has a strategic position connecting the northern, central and northwestern regions and belonging to the economic region of Ha Noi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh and Thanh Hoa, offering the province numerous conditions to develop supporting industries, such as automobile assembly, electronic components, textiles and garment to serve domestic production and export and join the global value chain.
Under the Master Plan, the supporting industry is one of the four main pillars of Ninh Binh.
Specifically, Ninh Binh continues to take automobile mechanic as a momentum to spur the growth of hi-tech and supporting industries.
Under its industry restructuring industry project, the province concentrates on developing mechanics, electronics, processing industries, electronics, agro-forestry-aquatic product processing, food and beverage, textile-garment and leather footwear.
Currently, Ninh Binh is home to 97 FDI projects with total registered capital of nearly 1.68 billion USD of investors from 12 countries and territories worldwide. These projects have made great contributions to shaping the supporting industry in the fields of textile, footwear, electronic components, and automobile components.
In the past few years, Ninh Binh has attracted a number of hi-tech FDI projects, including a camera module manufacturing factory of Mcnex Vina Co. Ltd. and automobile swipe producing factory of ADM 21 Co. Ltd. Numerous textile-garment and footwear projects have also been put into operation.
Promoting internal strengths and ensuring sustainable development
A representative of the Department of Industry and Trade said local enterprises in the supporting industry have seen positive performance and they have produced a large number of products serving domestic production and the global value chain, thereby helping to increase the localization rate of industrial products.
In order to facilitate the supporting industry and implement the provincial master plan, Ninh Binh gives priority to hi-tech and friendly-environmental projects which produce products with higher added value and for export.
The province continues to build mechanisms and policies to develop infrastructure and transport systems in industrial parks and clusters.
It will diversify cooperation and partnership with foreign partners to provide spare parts, components and supporting product, and develop the production chain.
