Tran Kim Long, Vice President of the Ninh Binh Confederation of Labour, said that with the motto "All trade union members and labourers have a happy Tet", trade unions at all levels in Ninh Binh have actively mobilised and called for donations from individuals and organisations to take care for their members and workers with disadvantaged circumstances.
The Ninh Binh Confederation of Labour will held a programme themed "Tet of gathering and Spring of sharing" with the participation of nearly 1,000 labourers from plants, factories and companies in the province.
The event aims at encouraging trade union members and labourers during the Tet holiday and showing the responsibility and attention of all-level trade unions in taking care of and protecting the rights and interests of local employees, Long added.
This year, the provincial Confederation of Labour will present around 1,500 Tet gift packages worth nearly 800 million VND in total to labourers, with priority given to those with disadvantaged circumstances, labour accidents, occupational and incurable diseases or losing jobs.
The provincial Confederation of Labour also asked trade unions at all levels to increase dialogue and negotiations with employers on production plans, salary payments and bonuses on the occasion of Lunar New Year Holiday.
At the same time, they were also requested to carry out measures to prevent risks of labour disputes and strikes during Tet, Long said.
