In 2015, the province achieved a GDP growth of 8.7 percent. The economic structure saw higher contributions by services with 48 percent and industry - construction with 40 percent, while agro - fishery - forestry made up only 12 percent.
By realizing incentives for investment and easing difficulties in business activity and industrial production, exports saw strong performance. The total budget revenue reached 3.52 trillion VND (157 million USD), an increase of 12.7 percent over last year, and 9.4 percent higher than the target set by the People's Council.
New-style rural development has been boosted. Forty communes in the province met the national standards on new-style rural areas, surpassing the target set for 2011-2015 by 60 percent. Poverty rate reduced to 3.35 percent.
The tourism sector recorded more than 6 million tourist arrivals in the year, a rise of 62 percent compared to last year.
Material and spiritual life of the local people improved remarkedly whiles ocial welfare, national defense and security were maintained.
The provincial People's Committee mapped out the socio-economic development plan for 2016.
The plan includes such goals as a GRPD growth rate of 7.75 percent and industry - construction accounting for 44 percent, agro - fishery - forestry making up14 percent, and services with 42 percent of the economic structure.
A GRDP per capita will be 40 million VND a year; total budget collection will hit 4.7 trillion VND (209 million USD); export value will reap 1 billion VND (44. 676 USD); tourism sector will welcome 6.2 million guests with a turnover of 1.5 trillion VND (67 million USD); and poverty rate will reduce from1.5 to 2 percent annually.
In the year, the province will have 21 more communes and one district meeting the national standards of new rural areas.
During this session, the People's Council also passed 14 important resolutions, helping boost the province's socio-economic development in 2016 and in 2016-2020 as the whole.
