During the working session, delegates discussed and agreed with assessments of the local socio-economic situation in 2018.
In 2018, the province has fullfilled all the 17 socio-economic development goals set by its People's Council.
It achieved a GRDP growth of 9.27 percent and its total budget revenue reached approximately 12 trillion VND, accomplishing the 2018 goal one month ahead of schedule. Industrial production and agriculture saw strong performance.
New-style rural development has been boosted, with 90 communes, two districts and one city in the province having met the national standards on new-style rural areas.
In the year, the tourism sector recorded more than 7 million tourist arrivals, with turnover estimated to hit over 3 trillion VND, an increase of 4.7 percent and 19 percent against last year, respectively.
Material and spiritual life of the local people improved remarkedly while social welfare, national defense and security were maintained.
The provincial People's Committee mapped out the socio-economic development plan for 2019.
The plan includes such goals as boosting the economic growth and restructuring the economy, striving to reach a GRPD growth rate of 8.5 percent.
Improving the investment environment, increasing competitiveness, and easing difficulties facing by enterprises will continue to be carried out in 2019.
The other tasks will be developing tourism as a spearhead economy; continuing implementing social walfare soundly and raising material and spiritual life of local people; streamlining administrative procedures; fostering diplomatic affairs and integration; and strengthening national defence and social security.
Also at the session, delegates conducted the vote of confidence for the 27 officials elected by the provincial People's Council and passed 23 important resolutions that could help the locality achieve stronger and more sustainable growth.
