Attending the session were Secretary of the Ninh Binh provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh; Deputy Secretary of the Ninh Binh provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of the Ninh Binh People's Council Nguyen Tien Thanh, and Deputy Secretary of the Ninh Binh provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of the Ninh Binh People's Committee Dinh Van Dien. Delegates conducted vote of confidence of the 12 officials elected by the provincial People's Council. During the question-and-answer session, they focused on the hot issues such as avoidance of social security payment by some firms in the province,; environmental polution in Tam Diep town in which two cement companies - the Vincem and Cement Company 207 - have been operating, and a landfill in Quen Kho hamlet, Dong son commune, etc. Leading officials of the local People's Committee, departments and agencies answered questions on the issues and proposed concrete solutions for the coming time. As for the orientations and socio-economic development plan for 2015, Ninh Binh targets a GDP growth of 8.5%, intensifying industrial production, services, tourism, and agriculture so as to fulfill the program of building new-style rural areas in the 2011-2015 period; developing tourism into a spearhead industry; ensuring social security and welfare, bettering people's life; maintaining political stability; consolidating national defense and security, etc. Also at the session, delegates adopted 22 important respolutions related to the socio-economic development in 2015 and the following years. In his closing speech, Chairman of the provincial People's Council Thanh spoke highly of the efforts and determination of departments, authorities, localities and people in the entire province in overcoming the obstacles for considerable socio-economic outcome in 2014. He asked the departments and sectors to work out plans, synchronously implement measures so as to translate the resolutions into reality. The delegates must inform voters of the outcome of the session, keep a close relationship with voters, and then to popularize it among the population and call on the locals to unite in striving for successfully implementing socio-economic development tasks for 2015.
