Ninh Binh marks 60th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's visit

The ceremony saw the presence of Tran Quoc Vuong, a Politburo member and a permanent member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat; representatives from ministries, agencies and organizations; current and former leaders of Ninh Binh province; and those of neigbouring provinces, cities; revolution veterans; Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; Heroes of People's Armed Forces; Labor Heroes; and people from all walks of life.

On October 18, 1959, Ninh Binh province was honored to receive President Ho Chi Minh on his working visit to steer the production of Winter - Spring crop in the province.

Between 1946 and 1959, President Ho Chi Minh visited Ninh Binh five times.

At the conference on the Winter-Spring crop in Ninh Binh in October, 1959, the President gave directions, not only for the crop that year, but also for various aspects for the long term forthe Party organisation, military and people of Ninh Binh.

He had emphasised unity among the people, within the Party, between religious and non-religious people; patriotic emulation in production; and the practice of thrift, which is still relevant nowadays.

Following his instructions, the authorities and people of Ninh Binh have united in their efforts to overcome difficulties, thus joining people nationwide in the resistance war for national liberation and re-unification.

After the national re-unification, the province has made remarkable development, particularly after the re-establishment of Ninh Binh as a province in 1992.

From the beginning of 2019, various programmes and emulation campaigns were launched by Ninh Binh agencies, organisations and have received warm response from cadres, military units and the local people.

Addressing the ceremony, Mr. Vuong spoke higly of Ninh Binh's socio-economic development in the last 60 years .

He asked the locality to continue promoting the campaign to study and follow President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts, morals and style along with upholding the initiative and creativity to tap all of its potentials and advantages, towards the goal of building a modern and civilized province in the coming time.
