Striving to fulfill task of building new-style rural areas in 2024
After over 10 years of implementing the national target programme on building new-style rural areas, Ninh Binh province has reaped positive achievements. The spiritual and material lives of local people have been improved. The face of rural areas has changed positively with spacious roads, big houses, and standard cultural houses. The local people's income has been rising while the poverty rate has fallen sharply.
In the period of 2016-2020, the programme on building new-style rural areas has been carried out drastically and it has become a popular movement among localities.
By the end of 2020, there were 106 out of 116 communes recognized as new-style rural areas; eight communes have been granted the title of model new-style rural area; one city and three districts have fulfilled the task of building new-style rural areas.
In the 2021-2025 period, the province sets a target of completing the task of building new-style rural areas in 2024. By 2025, it will have 25% of its districts to be recognised as advanced and model new-style rural areas; 50% of its communes become advanced new-style rural areas and 20% of other communes to be recogniesed as model new-style rural areas.
The rural economy has been developing towards diversifying economic sectors and focusing on industry and services.
The One Commune One Product (OCOP) programme has been carried out effectively. Since 2018, Ninh Binh has 101 OCOP products, 33 of which rated as three-star, and 68 others rated as four-star ones.
Determined to build model new-style rural area
The province has asked communes to continue to improve the quality of criteria and strive to become a model new-style rural areas right after being recognised as new-style rural areas in an attempt to improve the spiritual and material lives of local people.
Basing on that foundation, Ninh Binh has chosen 96 hamlets to carry out the programme. It has provided financial assistance for those registered to fulfill the task of building model new style rural area.
In order to implement the programme, the province has mobilised sources to build model new-style rural areas, carry out mechanisms and policies effectively and support production, thus increasing the income of local people.
