According to the Department of Culture and Sports, the preparations for the karate competition in terms of infrastructure, equipment and tools have been done by related agencies and units.
Other conditions related to accommodations for athletes, referees and delegates have been carefully prepared.
In addition, the communications and reception work has been assigned to specific units.
At the meeting, delegates reported the progress of preparations and proposed solutions to tighten coordination among units and sectors in preparing for the important event.
Concluding the meeting, Thin underscored the importance of the event, and asked provincial departments, sectors, agencies, units and localities to work together closely to ensure that the karate competition will be held in the province successfully, safely, economically and effectively.
SEA Games 31, themed "For a stronger South East Asia", will run in Hanoi and 11 neighbouring provinces and cities from May 12 to 23.
It will feature 40 sports with 526 events and expect to attract around 10,000 participants. The biennial event was initially slated for late 2021 but delayed due to the pandemic's impact.
