Secretary of provincial Party committee Nguyen Thi Thanh and other officials attended a ceremony marking the anniversary in Dung Thuy village, Xuan Thien commune, Kim Son district. The village has achieved many positive results in implementing the drive "All people unite to build cultural life" over recent years. All of the Dung Thuy residents are Christian, with agriculture as their main job. The number of well- off households in the village has increased over the years, while the rate of poor and near-poor households has fallen to only 7%; 100% of the households have access to electricity and clean water supply.
Notably, Dung Thuy has well carried out the campaign on building new style rural areas. The residents have donated VND500 million (đổi ra USD) and over 500 square metres of land for the construction of roads and other public works. Nearly 89% of the local households have met the criteria to be recognised as a "cultural family".
Talking with the locals, the Party official spoke highly of the residential areas' achievements in realizing the campaign to build the cultural life, expressing her hope that the villagers will continue their solidarity and get involved in the country's movements, thus fulfilling the socio-economic development tasks.
The same day, vice chairman of the provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung attended a ceremony in residential area No 8, Bac Son ward, Tam Diep town. The area, with a population of over 500, has become a model in the drive to build the cultural life as well as the campaign on building new-style rural areas.
Over 90% of the local households have met the criteria to be recognised as a "cultural family". During the meeting, participants recalled the formation and development of the Front, as well as recent activities and achievements by local authorities and people.
