Ninh Binh honours outstanding students, athletes

Attending the programme were Ms Nguyen Thi Thanh, Member of the PCC; Deputy Head of the PCC's Commission for Organisation, Vice Chairwoman of the Board for Deputy Affairs under the National Assembly's Standing Committe; Ms Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Member of the PCC, Vice President and Secretary-General of the VFF Central Committee; Bui Van Nam, former Deputy Minister of Public Security and former Secretary of Ninh Binh party committee.

 Ninh Binh's leaders and representatives of some departments, units and agencies also attended the programme. 

Addressing the presentation, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Tong Quang Thin commended the 308 students and athletes who made remarkable achievements in studying, scientific research and sports.

Many of them won prizes at national and international contests or entered universities with good marks, others secured medals at regional and international junior sports competitions, said Thin, who is also Managing Director of the fund.

Nearly 1.5 billion VND was presented to award winners at the programme.

The fund, set up in March 2012, has granted scholarships and rewards to more than 2,800 students so far with total money of over 12 billlion VND.
